The Presence Flow Sequence

A Simple 5-Step Practice for Grounding in the Now

The Presence Flow Sequence is a non-striving practice that uses your body's innate wisdom to interrupt the mind's argument with reality. This is a return to the elemental truth of the moment. The intentional actions anchor your awareness in the simple, sacred vibration of the present by embracing all direct experience as part of the universal flow… whether you’re enjoying yourself or not...

Step Action and Focus The Intention
1. Pause Stop the mental rush. Give the urgency a moment to settle. Create space between the feeling and your reaction. Breathe.
2. Look Turn attention away from the problem and notice your environment. Look at this space now. Anchor awareness in current, tangible seeing. Confirm you are safe in this moment. Breathe.
3. Listen Listen for the quiet hum of the moment. Note the sounds that exist without your effort. Tune in to the frequencies you’re hearing. Lean into the possibility that you are being fundamentally held in these vibrations. Breathe.
4. Feel Attend to the body. Where is the physical sensation of “the problem” sitting? Welcome and embrace the feeling as a Noble Guest. Acknowledge bodily sensation as flow. Unconditionally accept that reality cannot be different than it is in this moment. Breathe.
5. Acknowledge Welcome thought as it arises spontaneously. Notice it is just mental energy pulling you from the body's direct sensing. Consider the thought as impersonal energy in motion. Return your attention to the felt experience. Release expectation. Breathe.

I will leave you with one of my favorite quotes of all time in regard to this information:

"Absorb what is useful. Discard what is not. Add what is uniquely your own" -Bruce Lee
