WHY NOT?

There are so many times in life where a mind will ask questions:

🧠 Why am I putting in all this effort for so little reward?

🧠 Why don’t I feel more satisfied than this?

🧠 Why do so many things have to be so hard for me?

🧠 Why can’t I just be more like them?

🧠 Why do I have to focus so hard on building and maintaining anything worthwhile?

🧠 🧠 🧠 Why? Why? Why? 🧠 🧠 🧠

Now, I could take the time to answer all those questions in turn, but that would just be adding fuel to thought fires. So, I’ll just ask this:

WHY NOT?

🔸 Why NOT put in effort when the need for efforting is here, regardless of a reward?

🔸 Why NOT be satisfied with an apparent lack of satisfaction in the moment?

🔸 Why NOT do things that feel hard?

🔸 Why NOT be just like yourSELF?

🔸 Why would you NOT have to focus on building and maintaining something worthwhile?

A mind always thinks it knows better than Life (i.e., what is arising in the present moment). A mind’s job is to use thought to paint a picture of the world it believes is best. It creates a dramatic, incredibly detailed, and elaborate vision for you, all on its own. When what is actually happening does not fit into that very specific painting, a mind protests, and creates a “problem” for you.

The cause of ALL suffering is the belief that things could and should be different than they are right now. But is that ACTUALLY possible? Could THIS moment be any different than it is?

Of course not!

Oh, our precious minds! They are so brilliant, and they work so hard for us, but they are not wise. They do not guide us well. When we turn our attention away from thoughts, wake up, and look around, we can see the reality of things as they are so much more clearly.

When our minds start asking us WHY, let’s stop, look around, welcome in reality and answer…

WHY NOT?
